BookMark adds computer generated mask design to fashion design library

BookMarkTutoring.com(Santa Rosa, CA), a diversified online and offline tutoring company specializing in math, science and graphic design, has introduced a new fashion building block to its fashion design platform. The mask (left) generated with BookMark's proprietary graphic synthesizer, is designed with over 1000 red, orange and black weaves Besides a mask, the design can be used as a fabric pattern or transformed into a wide variety of garment structures with BookMark's fashion design tools. 

Mark Stansberry, director of fashion and design automation at BookMark, commented on the graphic synthesizer technology used to create the mask, "This design would have taken months to create manually. With our graphic synthesizer tool, the design took under an hour. The design work did not involve illustration, but what we call graphic exploration. With our graphic synthesizer the process of graphic design starts with graphic constraints. Once the graphic constraints are entered, the graphic synthesizer automatically generates a set of graphic designs based on those constraints. The designer than selects the patterns and uses them in overlays to create the final design. Although the process requires very little illustration, it requires that designer make extended use of their composition skills."

The mask  is available now in vectorized format as part of  BookMark's fashion design library.
