The summer sweater was fitted for BookMark's virtual dressup star, Sarah the Designer. Sarah, who was at one of the color comp sessions for the sweater, said that she was impressed with the vibrancy of the color schemes. Sarah pointed out that she liked color compositions based around white "because it (the white) accented the beaded American Indian look, and embellished the modern style needed for today's fashion."
For a stylish effect, BookMark recommends about 60 percent white in the design. BookMark says the contrast between the white and dabs of bright and earth colors provides a design that is characteristically today, but at the same time still reflects a traditional American Indian motif.
According to BookMark, the new Click & Color summer sweater will be used to help students who take its fashion illustration lessons further develop their sense of color composition. The Click & Color fashion specific composition tools are unique in that they allow students to develop fashion color schemes without having to use full-featured graphic design programs.
Mark Stansberry, who develops all the fashion design automation and fashion elearning tools for BookMark, clarified "although you can use programs like Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator to develop fashion color composition themes, it is time consuming and there is a learning curve. With BookMark's fashion color composition tools, you can change colors quickly and easily on a section by section basis with little or no instruction. Our fashion color composition tools also serve to provide a non-intimidating introduction to more complicated fashion design tools like Adobe Illustrator, which BookMark also provides instruction and lessons for."
The click-and-color summer sweater has been added to BookMark's collection of virtual assets under the category of sweaters. The sweater will be included in BookMark's upcoming line of dressup games.
BookMark Tutoring offers fashion illustration and graphic design lessons and tutoring. Class lessons are held online and in person at various locations in Santa Rosa California and throughout the world.
