How to write an effective resume cover letter

With an effective cover letter you will have a much better chance of getting your dream job. That's because an effective cover letter will make sure your resume won't be placed in the discard bin and will be read.

An effective cover letter includes a strong opening line that compels the recruiter to read on. It is short and to the the point. It also gives human resources and hiring managers something interesting or exciting to talk about.

An effective cover letter tells something about your personality that appeals to the hiring manager. It makes them curious and gives them a strong interest in finding out more about you.

Because cover letters are often tailored specifically to the company's values and needs, you almost always need to research the company and the hiring managers. This means you must budget your time and seriously critique your cover letter from a specific hiring manager's point of view.
