Besides problems specific to a student's homework, BookMark's students practice with online algebra problems from the National Assessment of Educational Progress* (NAEP) problem bank. These questions are used to assess algebra capabilities, pinpoint what topics need further practice and to prepare students for high school exit exams as well as college entrance exams such as the SAT, ACT and SSAT.
Besides the NAEP's question and answer bank, BookMark utilizes and instruct students on the use of online algebra resources such as calculators, flash cards, and multiple choice question banks.
The calculators are an invaluable resource for students that want to learn quickly and be up to date on the latest educational technology. These online calculators address the solving of specific types of algebra problems, can be used to check homework solutions and offer a student an easy way to get introduced to advanced graphing calculators. Online algebra calculators are often used to solve and graph linear and second degree equations and systems.
In addition to these online resources, BookMark also write and publish its own math educational material. This includes a set of 100 note cards for honors Algebra I and a series of formula and review guides for algebra one and two, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, physics and chemistry.
*The NAEP is part of the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). THe NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. NCES is located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences.
